To vote or not to vote, that is the question.

I’m quite chuffed to have been nominated for a VIP Business Award in The Happy Home category. I am, however, a little on the fence when it comes to the whole awards concept.

Of course there is a huge part of me that wants to beg you all to go and frantically place your votes right this minute. Because, quite frankly, who doesn’t love to win? But on the flip side I feel that doing so would be incredibly disingenuous. I don’t want to win unless I’m deserving of the award and I think I would feel pretty crappy about myself if I asked everyone and their dog to vote for me and someone truly deserving of it lost out simply because they chose not to hound their mates. I mean that’s just a friendship contest, isn’t it?

I can’t lie though, I have just shared the link on my personal Facebook profile and asked my friends to vote for me. I mean, I don’t want to come last now, do I?

I’m pretty sure that I’m only being human here and I’m also fairly confident that a lot of the nominees will feel the same way. The rat race is real. We’re here because we are trying to run successful businesses and award nominations and wins influence customers just as much as five star ratings and rave reviews. It would be a silly business decision not to partake.

So what’s the take home message of these crazy ramblings? Vote for me! Or not, that’s fine too! No, I’m really not just being a bit British, I want you to make your own mind up and vote with integrity. The Happy Home Award celebrates businesses in the home and motor category who make My VIP Card holders home lives easier and cheaper. I design and make affordable, clever and quirky quote prints to brighten people’s homes and make them smile. Do I fit the bill? I think so, but I’ll leave the real decision up to you.
